After 25 years, UDT has seen quite a fruitful history. From the conception of UDT in a South Florida home to several locations throughout the United States, we have grown into a strong community of individuals constantly working to help our customers Accomplish More.

As we approach 25 years, we are using this time to reflect on our journey as a company and what we look forward to in the future. UDT President and Co-founder, Gerard Amaro shared these thoughts:

Tell us the origin story of UDT.

I met Henry Fleches, CEO and Co-founder of UDT, in high school on the football field. I liked his attitude and admired his work ethic as a teammate. Our on-field relationship quickly turned into a great friendship off of the field. Henry was the first to bring up the idea of starting a company, something he always wanted to do. In March of 1995, he came to me with a plan and said he couldn’t do it alone. Although I definitely had some hesitations, Henry assured me we could figure things out along the way. Twenty-five years and a lot of hard work later: here we are!

How did you decide that UDT’s mission statement would be “Accomplish More”?

Our main goal for the company was to become the provider of choice for customers in technology. We were branding UDT and carefully considering why a customer should choose us. It was simply because we wanted to help them Accomplish More!

How do you feel about hitting 25 years?

It hasn’t hit me yet! I’m excited for the next phase of UDT. Although I am very proud of this milestone, I am prouder of the work that we’ve done and the hurdles we’ve overcome along the way.

What does the future of UDT look like?

We are looking forward to the next phase of UDT! We will continue to excel and become more services-led to drive value to our customers. Success breeds success and UDT is attracting a lot of great talent that will scale us to the next level.
