Florida company expands into Oklahoma City

Florida-based United Data Technologies on Thursday celebrated the opening of its new Oklahoma City office at 201 NW 10 St.

The managed IT services company in Oklahoma focuses on the oil and natural gas industry, where it provides network, data, video and communications services. The company has eight employees in Oklahoma City and plans to double its local employment over the next year.

United Data Technologies regional sales director James Sykes said he is not concerned that the company is expanding while the energy industry is trying to recover from a two-year oil price
downturn.

“It’s not that they have stopped spending money. They’re spending money more wisely,” he said. “They’re investing areas in where it makes sense for the long term.”
