What’s your work-life philosophy?
Make an impact. At the end of the day I don’t want to be just a seat filler, I need to feel like I’m contributing to the goals of the company.
What do you like best about working at UDT?
UDT definitely thinks about family first and understands that there are more important things than work. When I’m needed at home, I’m always afforded the opportunity to make sure I’m a good father and husband first.
How is UDT’s configuration center unique?
We are adaptable and versatile. We are challenged daily with requests and requirements both from our client base and from others within the organization to come up with unique ways to provide the best solution possible. We rarely end up in a scenario where we simply can’t accomplish what’s been asked of us despite what may seem like monumental obstacles to overcome. The team here is driven and hard working in all areas and solely focused on the highest standard of service for our clients. Very few other organizations in my experience have been willing to accept those challenges and accommodate whatever is asked of them when it falls outside of their core competency.
How does your role support the configuration center?
I work closely with each of the departments and Rick, our Director, to maintain the production flow and priority for all solutions processed here. I assist in the planning and deployment schedules for large scale projects, communicate with our Customer Service team to understand customer expectation for orders, help manage inventory receiving and shipping, and am responsible for the logistics of some individual projects that fall outside of standard production process where I act as Project Manager for their solution as a whole.
What is the best professional advice you would give?
Make sure you’re smart enough to know you don’t know everything. The team around you is what makes or breaks you.
People would be surprised if they knew you…
Were an avid fisherman. I’d rather be fishing than pretty much anything else.
What do you enjoy doing in your time off?
Spending time with my wife and 2 kids is what fills my cup up, so anything . That, fishing, music, and the Florida State Seminoles.
