What’s your work-life philosophy?
I work to have a life; this philosophy tends to keep me pretty busy! In the past, I’ve left jobs because I wasn’t busy so the fast-paced environment works well for me.
How would you describe the environment at UDT?
Diverse and busy. Technology is constantly evolving and working for UDT allows me to evolve with it.
What has UDT taught you?
I started working for UDT right out of college and as an introverted techie I learned how much non-techie discussions go into making a decision; it’s not just “if its broken, fix it”. That and the sales aspect of the job, you actually have to be a personable human being. You can be the most knowledgeable person in the world but if you have the personality of an angry snapping turtle you’re going to get nowhere fast.
How is UDT’s LifeCycle Management (LMS) service unique?
I believe the most unique feature to our offering would be that it is not a rigid offering. For example, if customer A wanted to manage their fleet of devices with Intune and customer B wanted to manage theirs with AirWatch we can meet those expectations without issues. This applies to every aspect of the offering and since no two customers are the same this I believe is one of the best features of our offering.
How does your position aid the LMS team?
I oversee all technical aspects of our LMS offering this would be; Development, imaging, deployment, reporting. Essentially if it requires software to be automated, manipulated or automated it lands on my team. This aids the team by automating tasks that normally cause bottlenecks or by creating customized software to meet a request/wish from our customers.
How does the LifeCycle solution fit into UDT’s other services?
Our LMS offering centers around devices and their lifecycle, once they leave our deployment facility services like out NOC can be leveraged to maintain their configuration as well as provide help desk services. Our SOC can ensure the devices have the latest security updates to keep our customers safe.
What is the best professional advice you would give?
In the IT field, NEVER stop learning.
People would be surprised if they knew you…
I tend to be pretty short on patience. Unless you’re a dog, then I have all the patience in the world.
What does your perfect day off look like?
Depending on what my home to-do list looks like. Either knocking items off the list or working on one of my many hobbies.
