Why Do Companies Outsource IT?

IT outsourcing trends show that many companies think it’s a smart choice to let someone else handle all or some of their information technology operations. Why do companies outsource IT? There are many reasons. Here are just a few…

More Time to Do What Matters
When your employees aren’t scrambling to manage dozens of daily IT tasks, it’s possible for everyone to focus on your company’s overall mission. Hiring an outsourcing partner, like UDT can help your IT team spend less time on housekeeping and more time on innovative projects that can help your company grow.

Access to Specialists
Most IT companies are staffed with certified engineers that have extensive industry knowledge. Getting the same level of experience on an in-house team would require you make a substantial investment. Also, depending on the company you choose, you may also have access to a bench of specialists who can provide support for specific industries and technologies.

24/7 Help Desk Support
If your company doesn’t have the time or the resources to support a 24/7 help desk, hiring an outsourcing partner can be a more realistic option. You won’t have to worry about the overhead that involved with supporting a 24/7 solution, and your customers will still receive the kind of support they expect.

Reliable Backups

Backing up your company’s data can be mundane and time-consuming, but it’s a crucial part of your business operations. Just one missed backup could set you back in the event of a disaster. An IT provider takes care of it all for you — and implements a testing plan to make sure your backup solution works when you need it.

Dedicated Security

Protecting your company from destructive technologies is incredibly important. Yet, many companies struggle to keep up with the latest updates, install critical patches and proactively monitor their network. An IT outsourcing partner can help bridge the gap, providing the added support the company needs, while making sure all critical updates are made on a timely basis.

No Hassle

Having one fixed cost for IT operations makes it easier to maintain a balanced budget and allocate funds where they’ll bring the most benefit to your business. With your in-house IT budget no longer tied up in hiring new employees or retraining existing staff every time a new technology comes along, you’re free to expand your business and realize the vision you’ve had for it from the start. The increased productivity you experience as a result of outsourcing may bring in more money as well, so you wind up with a larger pool of available funds for all business operations.

When do companies outsource? When you have a partner working around the clock to keep your technological infrastructure up and running, why wouldn’t you? Our IT managed services are designed to handle the tasks that your company doesn’t have the time or the resources to handle. You can have peace of mind knowing that we’re focused on helping your business maintain operations so you can continue to grow in a competitive market.
