UDT Receives SOC 1 Compliance Certification

We are proud of this achievement and greatly appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve as a Trusted Premier Partner of Choice.

UDT has received an important certification: Service Organization Control (SOC 1) from MARCUM, LLP., in accordance with the Association of International Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). This ensures that clients remain in compliance with the ever-growing list of complex regulatory and compliance requirements.

Founded in 1887, the AICPA represents the CPA profession nationally regarding rule-making and standard-setting, developing standards for audits of private companies and other services by CPAs, among other important functions. The SOC certification ensures that UDT has satisfied stringent third-party risk and compliance requirements and has maintained integrity of its own control environment while adhering to all policies and procedures. Additionally, it ensures that UDT has demonstrated adherence to trusted client service principles and best practices in key areas including financial reporting; security; processing integrity; and privacy and confidentiality.

This certification brings significant value for UDT clients needing regulatory compliance, including compliance related to Sarbanes Oxley; Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRamp); and Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

For UDT, this SOC certification further ensures that our clients in highly regulated, complex industries including financial services, healthcare, and government, as well as publicly traded companies who partner with us can enjoy the peace of mind of knowing they are in the best hands, and we will help ensure they remain compliant with the complex, ever-changing set of rules and regulations unique to their industries.

We are proud of this achievement and greatly appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve as a Trusted Premier Partner of Choice. More information about the certification is available at www.aicpa.org.

  1. Determine which systems were impacted and immediately isolate them. Take the network offline at the switch level or physically unplug the systems from the wired or wireless network.
  2. Immediately take backups offline to preserve them. Scan backups with anti-virus and malware tools to ensure they’re not infected
  3. Initiate an immediate password reset on affected user accounts with new passwords that are no less than 14 characters in length. Do this for Senior Management accounts as well.
