DORAL, FL– March 6th, 2012 -UDT (UDT) will take the lead in transforming the modern data center by being among the first integrators for the versatile new Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600/1600 product families, designed to meet the diverse and demanding needs of today’s computing environments. This new family of Intel server processors enables UDT to derive greater value for its clients by helping to reduce data center cost and complexity, and by employing automation to improve service, efficiency, and agility.

“We see again how Intel continues to outpace the competition and deliver innovation in the data center with the Intel Xeon E5-2600/1600 processor.  For our clients, the demand for more processing power, more efficiency, more consolidation, and more services is increasing at unprecedented levels.  Fortunately with Intel, UDT can continue to help our clients accomplish more.”

said Daniel Rodriguez, CTO and VP of Technology Services.

For even the most demanding computing environments, the Intel Xeon processor E5-2600/1600 product families1 deliver an optimum combination of performance, built-in capabilities, and cost-effectiveness. These processors are designed to meet evolving data center needs with up to 80 percent higher performance2 over earlier processor generations, as well as improved energy efficiency, offering more cores, more cache, and increased memory capacity. The Intel Xeon processor E5-2600/1600 product families feature second-generation Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.05, which delivers more speed when it’s needed for peak workloads. Another performance-enhancement feature, Intel® Advanced Vector Extensions (Intel® AVX), can double performance6 in applications employing floating point or vector computations. To keep processor cores most productive, Intel® Data Direct I/O Technology enables direct data transfers from storage to cache, instantly moving data to wherever it is needed and increasing I/O performance by up to 2.3 times7.

The Intel Xeon processor E5-2600/1600 product families derive more performance value from every watt using an enhanced Intel® Intelligent Power Technology8 for optimum balance between performance and energy consumption. And, the Intel® Data Center Manager plugs into existing management frameworks so that IT staff can monitor and manage power and thermal status for individual or multiple servers. To reinforce security, Intel based its new server processors on a solid foundation of encryption standards, trusted resources and standards-based protocols for protecting systems and sensitive data on shared infrastructure. To extend security across the network without significantly compromising performance, Intel® Advanced Encryption Standard – New Instructions (Intel® AES-NI)9 accelerates and strengthens encryption to protect all users and assets. The Intel Xeon processor E5-2600/1600 product families employ Intel® Trusted Execution Technology (Intel® TXT)10 to establish trusted pools of resources so that computing environments are better able to protect themselves from malware or other attacks at or before launch.
