Tallahassee, FL – July 22nd UDT (UDT) is pleased to announce that Michael Briggs has joined the firm as Senior Account Manager, focus on Public Sector and specializing in supporting state and municipal government sectors. With more than two decades of success in the public sector technology space, Briggs has worked side-by-side with dozens of state and local government agency leaders, most recently serving as EMC’s Enterprise Account Manager. He supported agencies with cloud platform migration, virtual data centers, enterprise storage, enterprise content management, RSA Security, VMware and Microsoft professional services, data warehousing, enterprise file services, data de-duplication, and disaster recovery strategies, partnering closely with HP, Cisco, Dell, , Microsoft, IBM, Symantec and others. While at EMC, he engaged extensively in Florida’s legislative process with respect to IT issues, including relocating to Tallahassee to assure greater accessibility. Prior to joining EMC, Briggs also supported Florida’s state government agencies in his role as national sales executive at Pitney Bowes.

UDT (UDT), already an established technology leader to the public sector, continues to grow at a rapid pace as state and local officials seek more efficient technology solutions to help them meet urgent work commitments on fewer budget dollars.  “Public sector agencies are facing huge pressures right now, with needs that are different from commercial clients in many critical ways,” said UDT’s VP of Public Sector, Tony Cossio. “Michael understands this world intimately. He’ll be an instrumental part of our team, as we continue to ensure state and municipal clients cost-efficient, operationally-effective solutions that help them accomplish far more.” Briggs envisions his broader role at UDT as a significant advantage in helping public sector clients achieve the higher operational efficiencies they seek. “In previous roles, I needed to understand the client’s entire vision just to provide a great solution for my EMC product set in the data center. With UDT, I can now take a true Systems Integrator approach; providing a solution that encompasses the clients’ full vision, with HP, EMC, Cisco, VMware and other resources. This broader perspective really empowers me to help clients in ways I couldn’t before…it’s what makes this UDT opportunity so unique and exciting.”
