UDT’ Professional Development Consultant, Carla Bates, Selected as Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert

Appointment evidences UDT’s Commitment to Empowering its Top Talent

DORAL, Fla.  – September 12, 2017UDT, a technology solutions company that evaluates, architects, secures, and manages information technology for organizations of all sizes, today announced that Carla Bates, its Instructional Technology and Professional Development Consultant, has been selected as a distinguished Innovative Educator Expert by Microsoft.

Bates, who joined UDT in 2015, has been a key professional helping to bring Miami-Dade County Public Schools, as well as many other educational systems, into the 21st century.

Now, as a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert she will join a global community of Microsoft “change agents” who will devote a year to participating in case studies, speaking engagements, and content development, with the purpose of providing better educational opportunities for students around the world.

“Continued professional growth for the educators and the professionals who serve them is critical to empowering young minds and preparing them for the world ahead of them,” Bates said. “I am honored to have been selected by Microsoft for this opportunity, which is right in line with UDT’s commitment to excellence and leadership. I look forward to the hard work of helping prepare our students for the future.”

With over a decade of teaching experience as a language arts and social studies educator, Bates is being recognized by Microsoft for being “self-driven and passionate about her work,” and for embodying a “true collaborative spirit to inspire students with outside-the-box thinking on technology in education.” Microsoft’s acknowledgment of Bates also marks UDT’s own commitment to promoting the continual development of its personnel.

A graduate of Florida International University, Bates will add the Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert distinction to the many accolades she has received throughout her career.

  3. Initiate an immediate password reset on affected user accounts with new passwords that are no less than 14 characters in length. Do this for Senior Management accounts as well.
