UDT Names IT Veteran Jesus Peña to Vice President of Sales – Florida and Caribbean

DORAL, FL– March 7th, 2012 – UDT (UDT) is pleased to announce the newest addition to the UDT Leadership Team.  Jesus Peña has been promoted to Vice President of Sales for Florida and the Caribbean.

“We are excited to have Jesus as part of our expanding sales team.  His leadership, expertise, and reputation will play an important role in continuing to serve our growing client base at UDT,”

said Gerard Amaro, UDT’s Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

“Jesus has a successful track record and he has already proven to be a valuable addition to the team.” Peña has spent his entire career in information technology. He began as a programmer, and then moved into networking before launching a successful unified data communications company in 1995. He sold the company in 2000 and entered the reseller side of the business. Jesus joined UDT in 2011 as Florida Director of Sales.

“This position at UDT allows me to continue pursuing my passion of bringing solutions to our client’s technology challenges” Peña says. “It is an important distinction in IT – to bring valuable solutions and remain ahead of technology to help our clients”. Peña earned an Associate of Arts degree in Computer Science from Miami-Dade College and studied Management Information Systems at Florida International University. Born in Cuba and raised in Miami, Peña is married, has four children, and lives in Miami.

  1. Determine which systems were impacted and immediately isolate them. Take the network offline at the switch level or physically unplug the systems from the wired or wireless network.
  2. Immediately take backups offline to preserve them. Scan backups with anti-virus and malware tools to ensure they’re not infected
  3. Initiate an immediate password reset on affected user accounts with new passwords that are no less than 14 characters in length. Do this for Senior Management accounts as well.
