UDT is Helping to Rebuild Communities Following Destruction From Hurricane Irma

DORAL, Fla. – September 14, 2017 – UDT, a technology solutions company that evaluates, architects, secures, and manages information technology for organizations of all sizes, has come together to help rebuild communities in the form of donations and volunteer efforts, following the devastation from Hurricane Irma.

UDT donated more than 10,000 items to the American Red Cross for the Florida International University shelter where many of the evacuees from the Florida Keys are staying.

Company volunteers came together to create a ball pit as a secondary area for the older children to play and donated soft balls for various games. UDT donated necessary items such as blankets, towels, feminine products, toothpaste, toothbrushes, healthy snacks, water, and for the younger kids: toys, drawing books, crayons and other items to help pass the time until they are able to rebuild or return to their homes.

“UDT came together to not only donate items to those affected by Hurricane Irma, but also volunteer in local shelters alongside the American Red Cross,” As part of the South Florida community it’s important for us to contribute any way we can and together we will rebuild.” UDT Director of Marketing Paula Euse said.

“We need to help our community. This is our home town and together we can accomplish much more,” UDT President Gerard Amaro said. “We thank the American Red Cross, FEMA and our local politicians for all that they are doing for our community.”

UDT employees will be taking a full truck of much needed donation items to the Florida Keys and is in the process of cultivating a team of volunteers willing to travel to disaster areas throughout Florida to help rebuild communities.
